            Video Critique

We offer a critique of your competitions/performances via video. We give you instruction on how to improve the movements, style, and techniques needed to bring your dancing up to a higher level of presentation.

Cost will be $25 per dance.

Send us your performance either on DVD, YouTube, e-mail, etc. and you will receive your critique through a private online link.

This is great.  It’s so much easier to understand with the visual and words.
I believe this will really help me.  Thanks so much.

YES we received the link, and it's GREAT -- thank you again!  A tremendous help!  I like it just the way you are doing it now, personally.  It's affordable (a big issue for me) and gave us some wonderful insights on how to improve. I hope you continue these critiques this way... We definitely plan on having you critique more dances in the near future.

I am telling all my friends about this, btw.  This was awesome.

We are proud to tell people we got it from you guys (we always get asked who did our choreo). I really like the way you break it down, visually from the front AND back, and the way you introduce it at the beginning showing it done to music from beginning to end.  This is the most professionally done choreography video we've ever gotten.
            Rhonda Diamond & Don Baker

I wanted to let you know that you do an awesome job of putting the video together.  The picture quality is excellent and it's very helpful that you dance it both forward and backwards to the camera.  Also nice that you broke down each separate phrase.  While most people do this, many put two or even three phases together at one time which can tend to get a little confusing as you fast forward and rewind through the routine.  Possibly the best feature is the way you put it all together and show it danced straight through.  I have a side business doing photography and video editing so I know that with the proper software this can pretty easily be done.  Problem is that most people that are doing choreography don't take the time or spend the money to have it done, yet it is very helpful to see the continuity between the phrases and it is great to see the whole routine danced through. Rick Miller

Received your choreo for my newcomer gold comp in ABQ on labor day. Great job guys! You have a steady customer from now on. Thanks again,
            Don Anderson

            TESTIMONIALS

Denise (and Sam)- Susan and I really enjoyed working with you this past weekend - and we had a blast at the Upper Deck on Sat. night. All of you were so welcoming and friendly. We hope to line up some more lessons with you this summer. I can't believe you convinced me that I can actually do some spins!

            Best wishes.

            Larry Herbert

YOU know what. I was just at a dance week-end and I am ruined for life. I am not liking how followers and leaders are pulling and tugging and all that. But, I am thankful that we have you to guide us!!!

            See you soon!!!!
            Hugs,

            ***************************************************

Hi Sam and Denise,  Mike and I heard dance camp was super.  Folks were very happy to see you both there.  I hope you had a good time too.  On another note, Mike and I just wanted to let you know how much we liked your waltz CD.  It is so thorough that I think we just might have a good chance of really learning waltz (chuckle).  Will you be making more CD for other dances etc.?  Take care.

Sam and Denise are highly effective in helping each student achieve his/her best level of performance; and the wonderful thing about working with them is experiencing their "joie de vivre"! - submitted by a particiant in the United Way DWOS event March 2010.

            Hi Guys and Girls:

THE SAM AND DENISE MILLER WORKSHOP WAS PHENOMENAL !!!!!

These two dancers are billed as Country World Champions....But if you watch their videos the only thing Country about them is their Dance Shoes.  They are Outstanding.... NOT ONLY WEST COAST BUT ALL THE BALLROOM DANCES AS WELL!!!!!

Anyone that missed any part of their workshop missed an opportunity to glean a lot of "Know How" in:
Body Language Technique; Fundamentals; Advanced Amalgamations: Styling; Critique and video of yourself and partner;and whatever else, taking turns dancing with everyone at the workshop !.

After dinner at the Beal St. Venue, They SHINED !....Just dancing  their way into our Hearts.
I have never seen so many moves in such a "small" space. They just mingled in, and had fun !

Pam Vaughn Came and will probably agree with me. What do you say Pam?

There are two videos within the MSDC website....check it out !

If MSDC can put on this type of "classy" workshop , I'm sure we can too... Jeannette J., Stephanie E. and the Board did an excellent job. The Gallery Ballroom was a good space for this.  Let's support their efforts.

I will probably never even come close to a being more than a "pretty good" West Coast Swinger but I got a lot of helpful information and I'm going to keep on trying. It just adds diversity to our dance repertoire.

            Sylvia Rose

            Denise & Sam,

What a pleasure it was to come to the workshop in Memphis and meet you. Being a novice, I am loving every minute of learning something new...especially from the BEST!!!

Thank you, Sam for all your helpful info.  Alot of what you taught me about body mechanics was definately new to me but sure makes all the difference.

Thank you for a great weekend and I hope our paths cross again

            Dodie

            Hello Sam&Denise,

It was good to see you two again. Sam my private with you was most profound.

I felt I spent time in a repertory school of dance. I wrote later to my chiropractor

of your knowledge of body movement and how you corrected my walking, he was

strongly interested in what he heard. So far the pain in my walking has decreased

and my mood and energy has shifted for the better.

Also even thou this was not my intent my spiritual side was opened more. You helped me with a problem I was having opening up more that not even spiritualist could not do. Just by telling me to continue to lift my energy up and move more from my solar plexuses. The private in a whole has move me equally in my life as well on the dance floor.

Thank you again for a good experience,

                                               John D.

            -------------------------------------------------

The moves you two develop have a different "character", for lack of more descriptive word, than nearly anything else I have seen.  I like very much that it's all so different.  PSS  My poor lats are now chronically sore -- but I know it won't last forever and my dancing will be changing much for the better.  I'm working them so much because engaged lats keep my head up better and keep my lead arm shorter, both of which are really good :-).  Tom Johnson

            ------------------------------------------------------

I have way too many broken parts & even was born with 40% hearing loss; so figured I would spend old age on the golf course & avoiding social life; but you guys are getting my hopes up again to dance!!  Ha!

In fact, as soon as you guys learn Argentine Tango, I may have to do some more bartering to get 3 or 4 more dvd's!!

Really enjoyed the lessons, demo, & your guys sense of humor! Allen

            ----------------------------------------------------

            Hello Denise,

I found your workshops in the Albany area last weekend terrific – I feel that your stuff on technique and the fundamentals of lead follow is pure gold.  I felt like I was dancing better almost immediately.

            Thanks.

            Tom

            ----------------------------------------------------------

Sam and Denise Miller teach a connection technique that allows dancers to communicate as gracefully as they can move. Utilizing body leading and lighter tension between partners, creates a more robust dialogue in which leads are danced not forced. Incorporating the Miller's concepts into your dancing mechanics will facilitate greater clarity and harmony with your partner.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to learn from you two. You guys are absolutely fabulous. Your level of understanding of dance and ability to dissect it and explain it is unsurpassed. You are also very nice and pleasant to be around, and very funny.

I attended a couple of your recent workshops at Linda Stancill's Sapphire Ballroom and loved them! Thanks for coming up our way.

Thank you for a most enjoyable and instructive weekend event

We've been practicing our dances and working to get the language of dance
into them. It really helps make the dancing so much easier. We
discovered that when we remember to use the language of dance, our
dancing is consistently better...instead of hit/miss. no more fake it
            til you make it!!!

            ----------------------------------------------------

Hi Denise and Sam. I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed all of your classes this weekend. Every workshop was something that I feel that I can accomplish with some more practice, whereas I had been feeling as if I was at a dead end in my ability. I feel like I am emerging from a yearlong bit of a slump and you guys really helped re-energize me to want to dance more again. Thank you. Love, Ruth

            ------------------------------------------------

Thank you for some awesome classes. I'm starting to grasp onto the technique you and Sam have developed and I;m excited to check out the dvd I bought. It makes sense and I like that I'm not being muscled around. I truly admire the both of you for your teaching, performance and social interaction with dancing & with talking dance after class with all the students. Whew thats was a mouthful.

            Thanks a bunch! Linda

            ----------------------------------------------------

These guys (Sam and Denise Miller) came to ABQ this weekend. They are the real deal. Incredible teachers, great performance, and they are so friendly.

Great teachers and lots of mechanics that no one teaches.
